greg hatton
Greg Hatton is an artist focused on capturing embedded views of the world with a clear purpose of sharing the stories that go along with them. From the details of a crack in the concrete to a raw emotion of a political rally; his work is best described as a form of “Fine Art Photo Journalism”. Time spent shooting documentary projects has developed a deep sense empathy and wonder in the world.
Michael Katz
Michael has been photographing wild places since he was a youngster, paddling the rivers of Wisconsin and the lakes of Quetico. Once I started photographing seriously, I gravitated toward the west, taking a weeklong Yosemite workshop in 1980 with Tupper Ansel Blake and John Sensor. Because I am a writer, there has been a strong literary influence in my life, first with Sigurd Olson and Aldo Leopold and later with Wallace Stegner, Edward Abbey and Barry Lopez.
Jerry Podany
Los Angeles based artist Jerry Podany uses manipulated fragments of digitally captured photographic “events”, some created by the artist some captured from random encounters, to construct images of alternate realities that reflect the interaction between the urban environment and the many definitions of nature. He seeks to explore the inadvertent beauty of urban detritus, of accidental and often unnoticed compositions and unexpected visual relationships.
Stephen Vanasco
Stephen Vanasco is a New York born, Los Angeles raised photographer. Working within the medium for over 20 years he defines himself not by a single subject matter but by his eye and how he translates what he sees through his camera. His passion for photography allows him to explore various subjects building bodies of work that inspire him and allow for a creative freedom. He attributes his approach to photography to having lived through the subculture underground era of skateboarding as a teenager in 1990’s LA.
Steve Goldman
Fifty years ago as a teen growing up in Los Angeles, Steve was thrust into the world of sex, drugs, and rock & roll of the 70’s music scene…filled with brilliant artists, raunchy parties, private jets, jars of cocaine, and unlimited budgets. It all started by accident at a David Bowie concert on March 12, 1973. Now fifty years later, upon the urging of friends and family, Steve has unearthed thousands of negatives and slides with a fresh life’s perspective on this golden era in music history.
Robert Parker
Photographer Robert Parker uses light and form to reveal unexpected moments and intriguing shapes. He was inspired to pursue photography living near the Pacific Ocean and studied at Art Center College of Design and San Francisco Art Institute. Esteemed photographer Imogen Cunningham’s mentorship helped him become a Lecturer in Photography at Stanford University. He founded the MFA in Photography program and showed his work at Smith-Andersen Gallery in Palo Alto and others.
Frank Jackson
Mr. Jackson’s interest and appetites are diverse. He enjoys fresh air, strawberry milkshakes, and black and white film, though he admits the combination often gives him gas. “I prefer shooting in black and white”, says Jackson, because it forces the viewer to look at the essence of an image… its form, tone , light , and shadow… instead of being distracted by the decorative effects of color. And also black and white film costs less.
