At The Icon, our black & white film processing integrates the zone system, ensuring optimal results in film exposure, subsequent development, and image printing.
To achieve utmost precision and accuracy, we rely on standardized 21-step density tablets. These tablets are employed to measure, monitor, and calibrate the chemical baths for each specific film type and size.
In contrast to the uniform processing times utilized in the C-41 and E6 processes for compatible films and sizes, black & white films are intentionally designed to showcase nuanced characteristics. The key factors that distinguish black & white films are the grain structure and size, the quality and integrity of the acetate used for the gelatin emulsion coating, as well as the designated ASA/ISO rating.
